Dr. Wojciech Michalak, received his doctoral status in 1984 in the area of military science, since then he has been an associate professor and professor of military science. From 1962 to1975, Dr. Wojciech Michalak was a professional soldier with a military title of Colonel. During his military career he was assigned to numerous combat support positions in the Air Force aviation units, including; technician and commander of the ground navigation systems company, commander of air C2 squadron. From1978 to 1979 he was the chief of staff, acting as deputy commander of the air regiment and staff officer in the air division headquarters. During 1980-2003 Dr.Wojciech Michalak concentrated on scientific and didactic work in the General Staff Academy and the National Defence University, holding a position as senior assistant, research assistant, deputy director and director of Air Force Chair, deputy dean and dean of the Air and Air Defence Faculty. Since 2003, Dr.Michalak has retired, and is currently a professor at the Faculty of the National Security in the National Defence University and the Vice President of the Warsaw Customs and Logistics College.

Dr. Wojciech Michalak is a Member of the Senates of two academies; Member of The National Security Faculty Scientific Board in the National Defence University; Member of The National Aviation Council; and The President of the Academic Club of the Association of Military Aviation Seniors.
