Piotr Czarnowski, President of FIRST Public Relations, the first professional Polish PR agency. Piotr Czarnowski , trained engineer (MSc. 1972) and journalist ( postgraduate, 1976),  has learned PR in major international corporations. In 1988 he quit journalism and took up PR as a full-time occupation. Two years later he founded FIRST Public Relations which was the first Polish company specialized in this area of activity and later became also first Polish agency with European ISO 9001-2001 certificate He worked for Communication departments in such international companies as AT&T, DuPont, Conoco, Boeing and General Electric. He co-founded several international public relations networks. When PR in Poland became more popular he was involved into education. Today Piotr Czarnowski lectures in several universities and he is an author of numerous publications. In 1996 he co-founded Polish Association of Public Relations, where he holds a vice president position until 1999. He is also a co-author of Polish PR Code of Ethics and was a member of first PR Ethics Council. In 2003 he founded the first Polish PR agency abroad - in the European Union. In 2006 he’s been awarded  by the State  with the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Polish Renaissance for outstanding contributions to communications, the first and so far the only distinction in this branch in Poland.  On top of running the agency and lecturing, he is recognized as communication expert and consultant by several Polish and international organizations as well as the business.
